GASTOUR - non-wood forest-based gastronomy and ecotourism international conference
This year, for the first time, on 18-19 April 2024, the international conference "GASTOUR - non-wood forest-based gastronomy and ecotourism" will be organized by the Bükki Kör and Innotime Hungary Kft., the representative of Green Destinations in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
The focal point of the conference will be to explore how forest ingredients and other zero km ingredients can be introduced to gastronomy, how to build gastronomic tourism programmes on these ingredients and how to create a sustainable and unique destination tourism offer that can brand the region.
In recent years, the members of the Bükki Kör have themselves developed a special gastronomic tourism programme package, which focuses on the discovery and focus on the edible treasures of the forest, and which has now become a destination tourism brand in its own right. In addition to presenting the results achieved, the aim of the conference is to reflect with national and international key figures in the gastronomy industry on the potential and directions for tourism product development based on forest-based ingredients and local products, and how this can contribute to the development of sustainable tourism and the achievement of the SDGs.
Conference languages: Hungarian and English (simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the plenary sessions)
